The Neil Barn was built in 1912 and still stands today. It has been known as the Roller Barn since the 1950's and without help it could disappear.

About

We want to help preserve the history of this amazing barn. As long time members of this community, we remember countless Fridays and Saturday nights skating to the disco lights and great 80's music. When you talk about the history of Oak Harbor, the Roller Barn is always among the conversations along with the Drive in, Kow Korner and City Beach. If we don't take action we will forever lose this piece of history. Oak Harbor has lost to many Gems over the past few years. This one is worth saving for a lifetime.

Project

Our goal is to buy, restore and bring back community functions to the barn. We will bring back regular skating and add some sport skating to the mix. Roller hockey, Speed Skating, Artistic Skating as well as continue Roller Derby (thanks to the Whidbey Island Roller Girls). We will also restore community events in the barn such as concerts and a large rent-able venue space. The basement will host our Retro Arcade, Tactical Laser tag and remain the home of Frightville for the Boys and Girls Club. Some many options in this amazing building.

How you can Help

We are looking for help in making this a reality. We will be offering a few ways that you can support us. We are not looking for straight cash donations, instead we are offering goods and services in return for your support. We will be offering prepaid yearly passes, clothing items for sale, hosting some special events, and your support at Toppins Frozen Yogurt and Black Ops Laser Tag coming soon to the basement of the barn will help us achieve our goals to help Save the Roller Barn.

Get Involved

Help us spread the word. Share our website and social media pages. Help us keep the buzz alive. We will also be looking for creative work from the community that we can use for social media posts, clothing and apparel items and flyers. Share with us your artwork of the barn, photos, or any other creative ideas to help create a successful Save the Roller Barn Campaign. We know we cannot do this alone so your support will be greatly appreciate and recognized on our donor wall.
